Home Restaurant Guide Dublin

Dublin is home to a wide and diverse selection of restaurants with something to suit every taste and budget.   Listed below you will find details of a few of our personal favourites.

Café Carlo Italian Restaurant
Café Carlo offers high quality Italian food at reasonable prices in a relaxed and informal environment.   The restaurant is located on the ground floor of Lynams Hotel, facing the Dublin spire at the heart of O’Connell Street.   The menu combines traditional Italian fayre including fresh fish, poultry, and meat with a great selection of pizzas and pastas.   The restaurant offers an extensive wine list, and is open daily till 10.30PM.   They are also especially child friendly.   For reservations please call +353-1-8880856 or e-mail stay@lynams-hotel.com at any time.

The Italian Connection
The Italian Connection is a small traditionally styled Italian restaurant which is located on Talbot Street, just moments walk from O’Connell Street and Gardiner Street at the heart of the city centre.   A range of both traditional Italian and modern European dishes are available, with the food always being good and the staff friendly.

101 Talbot Street
101 Talbot Street serves a range of dishes from a predominantly vegetarian menu.   The food is fresh and tasty, the service good, and the wine list well chosen if albeit slightly brief.   The restaurant itself is simple and relaxed, and works by various local artists which can be purchased in the restaurant adorn the walls.

Rhodes
D7
Rhodes D7 is located on Capel Street in Dublin City Centre and is Gary Rhodes first restaurant in Dublin.   The restaurant is very large and extremely trendy.   Not surprisingly the food is excellent, the only drawback being that the menu is slightly limited.   This is however made up for by a very extensive wine and spirits list.   The staff are pleasant and efficient without being at all overbearing.   Best of all however are the prices which are considerably less than one would expect from a restaurant of such a high standard, and are in line with the majority of eateries in Dublin city centre.

The Good World
The Good World is one of Dublin’s most well established Chinese restaurants.   Located on South Great Georges Street, it is very popular with both Dubliner’s and the Chinese community as they serve quality food from both modern European style Chinese restaurant menus and more traditional Chinese menus as well.   The food is very good, the atmosphere relaxed, and the staff unobtrusive.

Fire at The Mansion House
Fire is one of the newest openings on the Dublin restaurant scene.   Set in Dublin’s Mansion House (The Lord Mayor’s Residence) on Dawson Street, Fire serves high quality cuisine in a brassiere environment.   The restaurant typically operates two sittings – 7PM and 9.30PM, however reservations at different times may also be available.   The food is of a very good standard, albeit a little over priced, and the wine list is extensive.   All in all fire is worth a visit if you like to indulge yourself from time to time.

Nico’s
Nico’s is a traditional style restaurant in every sense of the word.   With echoes of a bygone age from the moment you step through the door you imagine that you could well be in Sicily.   The menu is typically Italian with signature dishes which include fresh fish and veal, with a limited range of contemporary pizzas and pastas being available.   Ever popular, Nico’s is worth a visit if you wish to experience Italian dining from a bygone era.  The restaurant is located on Dame Street in the city centre.

Kingsland
Kingsland is located on Dame Street and is one of Dublin’s most popular Chinese eateries.   Offering food from a range a la carte and set menus, along with an extensive wine list the food is consistently very good, having earned the restaurant critical acclaim down through the years.  Like many Chinese restaurants in Dublin last orders is around 12AMmaking it very handy if you want to grab a bite to eat late in the evening.

Peploes
Peploes is one of Dublin’s most critically acclaimed wine Bistros.  Serving modern European cuisine and a range of wines from over 160 bins, the menu is slightly limited but albeit very diverse.   The environment is slightly formal with white table cloths and a fine dining style table service.   Not withstanding this, Peploes is one of our firm favourites and is definitely worth a visit.  Peploes is located at the corner of St. Stephens Green and Dawson Street.
