Dublin’s National Transport Museum

As civilisation is carried on, part of what it carries are the vehicles. There are particular vehicles for different eras. Dublin’s National Transport Museum is located at the Heritage Depot in Howth Demesne. Visitors to the museum are welcomed by several vehicles. The oldest model in the museum is an 1883 model. It is one of the major attractions in the museum. The latest is a 1984 model. The vehicles in the museum are mostly the old and rare ones.
Inside Dublin’s National Transport Museum
There are five divisions in the museum. The divisions group together the vehicles according to their types. Dublin’s National Transport Museum is divided into: Passenger, Commercial, Fire and Emergency, Military and Utility Vehicles. Each of them displays vehicles of their kind.
The Passenger area displays trams, trolleybuses, buses and coaches. These vehicles are from long ago, as early as 1945. This is the place to go if you want to admire Ireland and Dublin’s road rulers years ago. The Commercial area showcases vehicles from 1927 to 1970. The vehicles displayed here are excellently preserved.
The Military area houses war vehicles which Ireland has used in its Defense Force. These are the World War II vehicles. They are historical in nature as they serve as proofs to Irish nationalism. The Fire and Emergency area is home to 18th century pumps. The Utility area displays gulley emptiers, tower wagons and road rollers.
There is just so much to see and explore at Dublin’s National Transport Museum. Each vehicle has a story to tell and a history to reveal. They are not just mode of transportation, they are witnesses of Dublin, Ireland’s glorious past. They have served people of long ago as a means of transportation and now they serve as history memoirs.
